At Childhood we always wanted to grow up soon... But now we realise that those Broken Pencils & Incomplete Homeworks were better than our Broken Hearts of present busy life...
When the School re-opened in June, And we settled in our new desks and benches..!
When we queued up in Book Depots, And got our new books and notes..!
When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet we managed to line up for Morning Prayers...
We learned to write with Slates and Pencils, And progressed to Fountain Pens, Ball Pens and Micro Tips..!
When we began drawing with Crayons, And evolved to Colour Pencils and Finally Sketch Pens..!
When we started calculating first with tables and then with Clarke's table and advanced to Calculators and Computers..!
When we chased one another nearby Toilets & in the Corridors in the Intervals and returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat..!
When we had lunch in classrooms, play grounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds..!
When the P.T. Periods in the week's time table were awaited more eagerly than monsoons..!
When Cricket was played with writing pads as bats, and chalks in papers rolled into balls..!
When many played Football in scorching sun, while others simply settled under the trees for chit-chats..!
Of fights but no conspiracies...
Of Competition but seldom jealousy..
When we got the live cricket scores from our friends during the lunch break..
When it rang 3.50.. we wander sometime and then slowly moved to the co-curricular activities..!
When it rang 4.40.. we rushed to the school gate, to have a fun saying "i'm the school first today.."
Gone are the days
of the stressful Quarterly,
Half Yearly and Annual Exams, and
the most enjoyed Holidays after them......
Gone are the days
of tenth and twelfth standards,
when we rushed for tuitions,
worried of special classes, Collected
slams and kept them hidden and then
Ended in cursing those who took the question papers
for our Public Examinations
We learnt.. we enjoyed.. we played.. we won.. we lost.. we laughed.. we cried..
we fought.. we thought.. with so much fun in them, so many friends, so much joy,
all this and more...
Gone are the days
But not the memories, which will be
Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and
Ever and ever and ever....!
So let us share our thoughts, ideas and plans here...
Let us move together towards a bright future awaiting all of us,
by supporting each other with the little helps
that we can offer them by staying in touch............!
